Community Input Needed To Shape Stone FacilitiesResidents in Stone are being given a unique opportunity to shape the future of community facilities in the town. People will be asked for their views on the design of a new community building at meetings in the historic market town this week. Stone already has a number of halls, huts, rooms, and clubhouses where a wide range of youth, voluntary, arts, social and community groups meet. However, a recent study under the Stone Market Town Initiative highlighted the need for a high quality theatre-style venue and other meeting rooms. Local architects, Hulme Upright Manning, have been commissioned to run the consultation. They have already talked to many organisations within the area. This is now being widened to include a series of open meetings. The first will be at Westbridge Park Fitness Centre on Thursday 17th January between 4.00 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. This event will be repeated, at the same venue, on Saturday 19th January between 10.00 a.m. and 3.00 p.m. All members of the public are invited to attend so the study can reflect the future needs of Stone and surrounding areas. Further consultation sessions will be held in Barlaston, Eccleshall, Oulton and Swynnerton in the coming weeks. Dates, times and venues will be announced shortly. For further details please contact James Cooksey or Mark Collins at Hulme Upright Manning on (01782) 208600. Discuss Stone Staffordshire Community Facilities in Our Forum |
